THE GLENLIVET GROUNDBREAKER COLLECTION

A bespoke kiosk web app bringing an exclusive whisky collection to life at Changi Airport, Singapore.

From design to pixel-perfect iPad app

Our starting point was the visual world created by the design team: bold, intricate artwork inspired by Red Hong Yi’s signature style. Our job was to take that and build a web app that lived up to it on iPad.
We engineered the kiosk interface to be sleek, responsive, and intuitive for travellers of all backgrounds. No instructions needed, just tap and explore. The app guided visitors through the Groundbreaker Collection and invited them to create their own personalised digital postcard, layering elements inspired by Hong Yi’s designs.

The magic moment: print in seconds

The postcard generator was the centrepiece of the experience. Once a visitor completed their design, the app packaged the artwork, sent it to the server, and triggered a high-quality print directly in-store, in front of them. A real travel memento, created and produced on the spot.

Getting this right required careful engineering across the full stack: the generative design logic, the server integration, and reliable communication with the physical printers, all running seamlessly in a live retail environment.

The collaboration that made it happen

A project like this doesn’t end at the code. We worked closely with the airport shop teams on the ground in Singapore to install and configure the printers, set up the iPads, and ensure everything was launch-ready on time. That kind of cross-team coordination, across time zones and disciplines, is where projects like this are won or lost.

From first line of code to first postcard printed, this was a genuinely brilliant project to be part of.
